Started because no one else would
We started Koola Capital in 2021 because we saw a clear gap. Small and medium businesses across South Africa were winning contracts, landing purchase orders, and doing good work, but they couldn't get the funding to deliver. Banks wanted years of history and big balance sheets. Other funders only cared about larger, more established businesses. The amounts these businesses needed were too small, so they were left out.
We've walked the journey of starting a business ourselves, and we've worked hard to understand what it really takes to scale. That experience shapes everything we do. Our team is sharp, we use technology wherever we can to speed up turnaround times, and we are always improving our offer. We exist to champion small to medium businesses that are focused, dedicated, and ready to grow.
